How clear is your vision?

Alright…I know I’ve been quiet for a while. The reality is that I have been totally engrossed working for clients, especially one. So engrossed that I’ve been too tired to write to you. The task of sitting down to write a blog entry just kept getting lower and lower on my priority list until it was never on there.

Is that good? Heck, NO! I’ve been regrouping and decided to use as a catalyst a class offered by the Laurie Beth Jones company to help get me back on track. Laurie wrote the book, The Path, which helps you create your mission statement. I used the book while on a personal retreat back in 2001 to help me create my mission statement. I needed to be clear about my path then and since my vision had become clouded, I thought it was a good idea to repeat the exercise now, just with a group and a coach-leader.

I’ve got another week left of the teleclass and the interesting point to share with you is that the vision of what I want to do, be and have hasn’t changed. I have made some progress over the last five years so I shouldn’t be too hard on myself. But…I had lost my vision. I got caught up in life and work.

The homework I gave myself is to create a montage of magazine clippings to depict how I want my life to be. The inspirational words posted in my office have been helpful, but I need pictures. I’ll share it with you when its complete.

My lesson for you today…if you find yourself in a rut, ask yourself how clear is your vision of what you want? Can you “see” it? Can you describe it in detail? It’s really hard to make a plan to build something if you don’t know what you’re building. Make your vision more clear! Get it in writing and/or pictures. Post it where you see it and it becomes part of your subconcious.

Have suggestions for me and others? Speak up! Share your thoughts.

Have a blessed and impactful day! — Debbie 🙂
