Every year at this time it sneaks up on me. The phone rings more and the client appointments grow. Just yesterday I booked 4 new apppointments. Why?
I’ve been doing this for over 10 years and I know that people want to get more organized towards the end of the year. Some will wait until January, but for others, the nagging feeling of “I’ve got to do something” starts now. This is especially true when it relates to getting your finances in order, which is one of my speciality areas.
Yet, every year as I struggle to find room in the calendar for clients and stress over not being able to be available in their time frame, I chuckle at myself. I’ve forgotten again. This is my busy season. I know it. I can look at the sales numbers in QuickBooks over the past 10 years and the last quarter of the year is always high. Once I acknowledge this to myself, I can sleep easier.
Do you “know” your season? It’s simple to find out by looking at some sales reports in your financial system. Just knowing reduces stress. If this is traditionally a slow time of year, then plan accordingly. Use the time to clean up, create new programs, or rest. If you’re busy like me, know your “season” will come. Just find out when!
Now, if you’ve got some great ways for me to say “no” to clients, I’m all ears!! 🙂
